  1. 2 large yellow onions, peeled and sliced
  2. 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
  3. 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
  4. 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  5. 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
  6. 1 teaspoon sugar
  1. In a large saute pan, add the olive oil and onions then sprinkle with salt and pepper. Gently toss the onions to coat. Turn the heat to medium low and cook for 5 minutes.
  2. After the onions have cooked for 5 minutes, sprinkle the balsamic vinegar and sugar over the onions and gently toss. Reduce the heat to low and cook for another 20 minutes until the onions are translucent - stir occasionally so that the onions cook evenly.
